Is Ibiza worth visiting in October? A week in Cala Tarida.

Ibiza in the summer months can be quite hectic, the clubs are packed, prices are through the roof, getting a taxi in recent times has been impossible and you’re even jostling for space on Ibiza’s beautiful beaches. However, as the summer season draws to a close, the parties are ending and the tourists are heading home to hibernate things begin to get a bit quieter, chilled out and most importantly cheaper. Thankfully the beaches remain, the sun still shines, restaurants are open, the sunsets are spectacular and flights from the UK are far more affordable and so Ibiza is absolutely worth visiting in October. After spending an amazing week in Cala Tarida on the west coast in the first week of October, here’s just a few reasons why you should visit Ibiza at this time of year.

The perfect opportunity to explore

A common misconception about Ibiza is that it’s just all about partying however with the slightly cooler temperatures, visiting Ibiza in October is prime time for exploring the island’s rugged coastline, hidden beaches, and lush countryside. There are a fair few trails up on the cliff tops that take you from beach to beach or why not hire paddle boards to explore the tiny coves up close. There are also several organised boat trips that take you along all the beaches of the west coast with snorkel stops in front of the famous Es Vedra rock. The Old Town of Ibiza was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1999 and offers another area of the island to explore. Why not spend the afternoon exploring it’s cobbled streets to find a castle, museums, a cathedral and several restaurants and shops.
